Analysis on Mechanical Behavior of Relay Vertical Rotation for Steel Arch Tower

The vertical rotation method is a special option for steel tower construction in fabricated bridge. tall prefabricated on the ground and then pulled to its designed position using wires. Traditional always uses taller temporary structure provide an upward pull force lift member; however, would spend much time, cost, work high above ground. For instance, Jinwu Bridge tower’s weight was so heavy that ordinary rotating not feasible. Therefore, relay traction system with two auxiliary struts employed rotate tower. chief strut first rotated inclined angle of 60° by assistant decrease lateral component tension. Then, from horizontal strut. Furthermore, numerical model established analyze mechanical behavior inner force, stress, deformation strut, study identified critical conditions such as reverse axial intervention back cables, release cable effectively reduced initial pulling spending less cost time. Besides, analysis can be innovate reference other projects.
